HOMAGE
Everyone knows HOMAGE. They’re the online t-shirt brand from Columbus, Ohio, that got investment love from the guy who played Van Wilder. But close to two decades ago, HOMAGE was a tiny operation hidden in the back of a business park outside Reynoldsburg, Ohio. And that’s where our story begins…
Ryan, the founder of HOMAGE, liked the work I was doing with Raising Cane’s Ohio, so he hired me on to grow the brand’s social footprint and increase sales with paid ads, giveaways and organic content that inspired nostalgia and promoted some seriously buttery-soft t-shirts.
Eventually, as the creative and marketing teams expanded (and the follower count grew exponentially) I was able to get more experimental with our social marketing and produce frequent, time-sensitive content — often partnered with celebrities and influencers — that massively increased brand awareness amongst sports and pop culture die-hards.
By the end of my time at HOMAGE, I was managing large scale video productions and celebrity interviews with the likes of Urban Meyer, Jim Obergefell, Darren Rovell, and Adam Ray, and could also take credit for millions of dollars in t-shirts sold. (Thanks, Google Analytics and Bit.ly. 😘)
